This email calls on members of parliament and government officials in European Union member states and other democratic countries to support the creation of an emergency communication system that would allow people in Iran to access the global internet through their mobile phones, even when the domestic internet is shut down. It also urges governments to make use of available instruments such as NDICI – Global Europe within the EU, as well as similar mechanisms in other countries, to support the Iranian people’s access to free communication and information.

Fellow humans
In Iran, people are being deliberately targeted and killed. Protesters are shot directly in the head, neck, and chest. Snipers hunt civilians from rooftops. The wounded are abducted from hospitals, and many never return. More than 35,000 people have been killed. Hundreds of thousands have been injured. Thousands have permanently lost their eyesight. Many citizens no longer dare to seek medical care, fearing arrest or death. Bodies are buried at night. Names are not recorded. The internet is shut down to conceal the truth. This violence is not accidental. It is a systematic policy of repression and killing that has continued for decades, both inside and beyond Iran’s borders. One of the main instruments of this repression is the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, an institution that plays a direct role in these crimes and has been designated as a terrorist organization by the European Union.
Silence in the face of these crimes is not neutrality. It is complicity. Responsibility does not rest with governments alone. Responsibility rests with us. Act now. Demand that your representatives hold the perpetrators accountable and commit to actions that go beyond verbal condemnation.Silence today is tomorrow’s regret. History will ask: who acted, and who only watched.
